- Loran Awards and Canadian Morehead-Cain Scholarships: Students that best reflect the criteria of character, leadership and community service are considered to be strong candidates. Activities both within the school and out in the community are weighed equally. An 85% average is the minimum academic threshold for consideration. TD Canada Trust Scholarships: Scholarships valued at up to $70,000 for up to 4 years of study at any approved university or college. Awards are based on scholarships and community involvement. More information is available at www.tdcanadatrust.com/scholarship.
Millennium Excellence Award Program: Over 1000 awards are granted to students entering their 1st year of study at a Canadian post-secondary institution (college or university). Awards range from $4000 to $20,000. The criteria for selection are academic achievement and demonstrated leadership. More information is available at www.excellenceaward.ca.
- Terry Fox Humanitarian Award: 20 renewable awards of up to $7000 are awarded yearly to university or college bound students who demonstrate the highest ideals of citizenship. More information is available at www.terryfoxawards.ca.
Thomas G. Flanagan, S.C. Scholarship: This scholarship of $1500 is awarded to a visible minority or aboriginal woman how expresses an interest in policing as a career and who sill consider joining the Ottawa Police Service. More information is available at www.ottawapolice.ca.
Epilepsy Canada: This scholarship is awarded to any graduating secondary student planning to attend a post secondary institution that is being treated for epilepsy. More information can be found at www.epilepsy.ca.
Allan Simpson Educational Fund Awards: This scholarship was established to assist with the costs of post secondary education for young people who are full orphans (both parents are deceased). More information is available at http://grandlodgeofontario.ioof.net/allan_simpson_education_fund.htm.
Harry Jerome Awards: Academic, arts, athletic and leadership awards are awarded to African Canadian students who have demonstrated excellence in any of these areas. More information can be found at www.bbpa.org.
Garfield Weston Awards: For students entering 1st year of full-time college studies. More information is available at www.garfieldwestonawards.ca.
Canadian Hospitality Foundation: Only applicants who applied to the University of Guelph (Hotel and Food Admin.), Ryerson (Hospitality and Tourism), University of Calgary (Tourism and Hospitality and Mount Saint Vincent (Tourism and Hospitality) are eligible. Pittsburgh Community Benefit Fund: Scholarships are available to students who reside in the former Pittsburgh Township. These scholarships are available to any student continuing on to university, college or trade school. The main criteria is community involvement. More information is available at www.pcbf.org.
Aird Scholarship: The scholarship is intended to help students with physical disabilities to study full time at a recognized post secondary institution. 2 awards of $2500 are awarded annually. More information is available at the OSAP website.
Ontario Hostelry Institute College Entrance Awards: Eight $2000 awards will be given to graduating students entering an Ontario community college in one of the following programs: culinary, hotel, tourism, food and beverage, hospitality, resort or events. Monsanto Canada Opportunity Scholarship: Scholarship of $1500 awarded to high school students enrolled at a post-secondary institution (degree or diploma) in a 1st year agriculture or forestry program. More information is available at www.monsanto.ca.
Developmental Services of Leeds and Grenville Awards: One award will be granted to a college bound student and one university bound student who has registered in a first year social services program. More information can be found at www.developmentalservices.com.
Dr. Albert Rose Bursary Program: This bursary is available to all rent-geared-to-income housing tenants who will be enrolled in an education program. More information is available at www.ontario.ca/mah.
Gananoque Horticultural Society Bursary: A bursary of $500 will be awarded to a student entering a 1st year post secondary horticulture program. First consideration will be given to a member or the child or grand child of a member. Application forms are available from the Horticulture Society.
