Programs in the UCDSB

The Upper Canada District School Board offers a variety of unique programs and learning opportunities for students of all ages.

  • Co-operative Education - provides Grade 11 and 12 students with the opportunity to earn high school credits through an unpaid work placement.

  • Dual Credit – high school students to take college or apprenticeship course that counts towards both their Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD).

  • E-learninghigh school students can enrol in online classes not offered at their school as a way to customize their education based on their strengths, needs and interests.

  • English as a Second Language - a program intended to support English Language Learners (ELLs) as they learn English while simultaneously meeting curriculum expectations.

  • French Programming – students can take either core French or French Immersion within the UCDSB.

  • Indigenous Studies – learn more about how the UCDSB incorporates indigenous studies throughout the curriculum.

  • Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Programan opportunity for students to begin working on an apprenticeship in a skilled trade while still in high school.

  • Specialist High Skills Major students focus on a career path that matches their skills and interests while meeting the requirements of the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD).
  •  Real-World Learning – students work with community partners and industry professionals on authentic and real-world projects. It helps students develop critical thinking skills, problem-solving abilities, and practical skills that can be applied beyond the classroom.

  • International Educationthe UCDSB welcomes hundreds of students from around the globe to our classrooms each school year.

  • Summer Learning Optionsthere are a variety of summer learning options for students who want to gain credits, improve their marks, or reach ahead over the summer.
